Application to Attend Retreats at the SAT Temple

The orientation with which one approaches a spiritual retreat at the SAT Temple is very important. It influences what is absorbed and determines what is experienced. In preparation for the retreat, be certain to consider the importance of these aspects of your approach:

Ardent practice of or sincere interest in the teachings of Sri Ramana Maharshi and Advaita Vedanta.
An understanding of the spiritual value of this Jnana (Knowledge) and the sacred opportunity to receive upadeśa (spiritual instruction).
A comprehension that there is profound depth revealed in silent meditation.
Bhakti (devotion), humility, and a keen awareness of Grace.
Perception of the sacredness of this Siva Temple consecrated to Self-Knowledge and naturally conducting oneself within it accordingly.
Recognition of the spirit and essentialness of dāna (generous giving) and arpaṇam (offering).
The earnest desire for the Realization of Brahman, the true Self.
